After the punishing party season from Thanksgiving to New Year's, more and more people are declaring a "Dry January" and taking a break from alcohol. Salon's Nicole Karlis reports that if you can weather the taunting you may get from your indulgent friends, a drinking sabbatical can have positive effects, including conditioning you to drink a little less all year round.
