New York Congressman Jamaal Bowman is urging media, his Democratic colleagues and voters to get real serious when it comes to standing up against the normalizing of Donald Trump and white nationalist rhetoric. "'It's a really scary time," Bowman told Salon's Dean Obeidallah. "That's why we got to all get in the game because it could get way, way worse." The progressive congressman called out Trump and those who push MAGA rhetoric. "I'm very concerned with the normalizing of Trump, the normalizing of Elon Musk and some of the things he says and does. Bill Maher seems to be a part of this normalizing, and so many others, with Ron DeSantis and others attacking the 'woke mind virus.'" Bowman, a former educator, also shares his ideas for common sense gun laws and how to achieve those, why he's against banning TikTok and how lawmakers can help constituents better understand complex issues, like the debt ceiling.
